Katia Ricciarelli in a benefit concert with students of the “Saranno Celebri” school, held in Piombino

On April 26, 2009 at the Metropolitan Theater of Piombino, Katia Ricciarelli together with talented young persons, performed in a benefit concert organized by the Kepha Foundation. The event, in which 18 students of Katia Ricciarelli’s International Opera Academy accompanied her and tenor Francesco Zingariello, concluded the internship conducted by the soprano three days each week since January on the grounds of Villa Vittoria to prepare the students --all music conservatory graduates-- eager to perfect their technique. The first part of the evening’s lineup included a tribute to Puccini, followed by a classical repertoire, enabling the young artists to showcase great eclectic capabilities.

Katia Ricciarelli and her students, coming from all over Italy and abroad, offered the city of Piombino and its residents an evening of music whose proceeds were donated to local charity and to the San Vincenzo de’ Paoli Society. Sixty theater seats were donated to these two associations because, as Kepha President Father Patrizio Benvenuti explained, “Culture should be accessible to everyone; we want persons who would like but cannot afford it, to have the opportunity to watch the show.

The concert was received with great enthusiasm especially by the Municipal Cultural Administrator who underlined the relationship created by the artistic reality of the School with the city of Piombino, emphasizing the work realized by the Kepha Foundation.
